Adjusting to my new life of chronic pain and fatigue has been extremely difficult. I felt like I was living the American California Dream: work hard, play hard. I was at the height of my career as a programmer, I had a beautiful home in sunny Pacific Beach, San Diego, a fun relationship and I was super active: biking, skating, surfing, rock climbing, etc. I genuinely loved my life and was proud of how far I’d come.
But in a matter of months, I lost it all.
I was born with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) but it wasn’t until a few years ago that my health spiraled out of control. EDS causes a host of issues including chronic pain and fatigue; because of back and leg issues, I started using a wheelchair some days. I was unable to work, and going through the disability process in our healthcare system took a toll on my mental health.
Psychedelics, specifically psilocybin, helped me through it. Micro and macro dosing allows me to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Throughout the years in my time spent in the psychedelic community, I have directly heard hundreds of people’s first-hand accounts on how much psychedelics have helped them with breakthrough moments.
My physical limitations have restricted my life the past couple of years, but this movement is so important to me that I try to collect signatures at least a few hours a week. I’m so happy to have found so many people with the same passion for psychedelics and mushrooms. Join me in decriminalizing magic mushrooms by downloading and signing the petition.
